This mixed media work, using watercolour, acrylic inks, gouache and sand was inspired by my experience of Seaton Wetlands. The painting aims to capture the glorious russet summer plumage of the Black-tailed Godwits. Working from sketches, reference photos and memory to bring to life the lazy summer atmosphere, the sparkle and reflections on the water and the elegant waders.
