About the Course
You will develop your drawing skills and produce a range of drawings, compositional studies and sketches. Throughout the course you will use a wide range of media and techniques.

The Course will cover:
• Use of negative shapes when beginning a drawing.
• How to use a range of experimental mark-making and lines to communicate different intentions.
• Measuring and sighting techniques to draw proportions more accurately.
• Tone and form, composition, perspective and foreshortening.
• Experimental drawing with a range of media and mixed media, including; pastels, graphite, charcoal, inks, chalk

Level
Mixed ability course, beginners welcome.

Equipment
Hand outs will be provided and the tutor will advise you on any further reading that might be useful and/or of interest to you. A basic tool kit will be required - see below.
For the course you will need to bring:
Drawing Paper – A3 recommended
Charcoal
Compressed Charcoal
Pencils HB – 6B
Eraser / Putty rubber
Graphite stick 8B
White Chalk
Black Ink
Soft Pastels

This Course could lead to: Term 2 or other art courses i.e. Watercolour or pastels.
